Iris Louka
Iris louka has a Doctorate in
Performance (Department of
Music, Ionian University) in
viola, a Master in Performance
Practice from the same
University and a Degree in
Musicology from National
Kapodistrian University. She
studied violin and viola in
Athens Conservatory with
Tatsis Apostolidis and Ismini
Carter and graduated in both
instruments with a Diplom
and a distinction. She
continued her studies in
Vienna Conservatory where
she studied also viola with
proff. H. Muller. She
represented Greece in World
Youth Orchestra as a Solo
Viola with concerts all over
Europe under the guidance of
members of Berlin
Philharmonic Orchestra and
famous conductors and
soloists (Mazur, Temirkanov,
Tate, Schiffrin, Marriner).
She is a member of Athens
State Orchestra in violas and
Quintarco quintet.
She is also a member of the
string ensemble of Athens
State Orchestra «Athens
Classical Players» in violin.
She has written and directed
for Athens State Orchestra the
educational projects «Pesto
Presto: the history of the
symphony orchestra in 1
hour», «Viola Power: the truth
behind!» (history of the
instrument) and «The Mozart
Code» for the programm
«Musical Offer and an Offer
of Music» .
